How do I enter an amendment?

The Contract Manager will enter an amendment in the same manner as any other contract using Create or Upload Existing Contract found on the Contracts menu.  Select a Contract Type of Amendment.  Link the amendment contract record to the contract record it is amending using the Parent Contract field.

Do not use the Amend Contract Action.  This feature is only being used to correct select fields on contract records that have been executed, not to capture changes to terms and conditions resulting from the execution of an amendment.

Uploading the amendment as an Attachment on the contract record of the contract it is amending is not recommended.  It is helpful to have a dedicated contract record to capture the unique terms and requirements of the amendment and have it clearly visible in the Contract Family along with other child contracts (e.g. statement of work).
